There he studied conducting in the Opera School at UBC, performed with various orchestras and ensembles including the Vancouver and Okanagan Philharmonic Orchestras and was musical director for numerous premiere performances.

On his return to Australia he took a position Trinity Grammar School, where he teaches brass, directs various ensembles and repairs instruments as part of a large and productive music department. Andrew has an extensive knowledge of the repertoire and his teaching approach strives to develop students with the skills to enjoy performing on their instruments. He is also Music Director of The Mosman Orchestra, maintains an active studio in Summer Hill.

He still maintains a busy performing schedule including Willoughby Symphony Orchestra (2000-2006), and solo performances with Orchestra 147 and the Bourbaki Ensemble.
