Owen Torr is a regular performer with The
Sydney Symphony and the Australian Opera and Ballet
Orchestra. He studied with Louise Johnson at the Sydney
Conservatorium and later at the Salzedo Harp School in Maine,
USA, with Alice Chalifoux, Principal Harpist of The Cleveland
Orchestra from 1931 to 1974. He has played guest principal
harpist with Singapore and Tasmanian Symphony orchestras, and
made guest appearances with The Australian Chamber
Orchestra. Owen has played in many Musical Theatre
productions, “The Producers”, “Wizard of Oz”,
“Beauty and the Beast”, “South Pacific”,
“A Little Night Music”, and “My Fair
Lady”.
