Rachel Campbell B.Mus. (Hons. - Sydney Con. Musicology Major)
Teacher of Musicianship, Theory and Music Craft, HSC & Tertiary Music Tutor
Rachel teaches Music Craft, Musicianship and music theory at her home studio in Newtown. She also lectures in the Musicology Department at the Sydney Conservatorium (Harmony & Analysis, Music History and Aural) and lectures in Popular Music History at the Australian Institute of Music. In addition, she has taught AMEB Musicianship at the Sydney Conservatorium and tutored numerous high school music students.
Rachel writes programme notes for Symphony Australia, Musica Viva, the Sydney Festival, Sydney Conservatorium and various contemporary music ensembles such as ELISION and Ensemble Offspring, and is a music journalist for the arts newspaper RealTime
Rachel believes that learning takes place most successfully when students are interested and entertained by lessons, and her students have often commented that she made musicianship fun. Her students have achieved very successful results in AMEB exams, up to and including 100%.
